Fran Simpson is both a parent of two autistic children and a researcher & advocate for neurodivergent individuals. Her daughter has autism with a PDA profile. PDA is a profile on the autism spectrum which involves the avoidance of everyday demands and the use of 'social' strategies as part of this avoidance.

She will be talking about the PDA profile, including what constitutes a demand and strategies of avoidance and sharing the impact this can have on families along with ideas about how best to work with people with this profile of autism. Fran will highlight some of the positives of this profile and share some of her own lived experiences.
